1. What is the purpose of geometry?
Wheel alignment allows you to check and adjust the alignment of your vehicle's wheels. Proper alignment improves handling, driving comfort, and helps prevent premature tire wear.
2. How can I tell if my geometry is out of alignment?
Several signs can indicate an incorrect setting:
The vehicle pulls to the left or right.
the steering wheel is no longer straight,
the tires are wearing out abnormally,
The vehicle lacks stability.
You experience vibrations or less precise handling.
3. When should the geometry be checked?
We recommend a check-up:
✅ After replacing the tires,
✅ After hitting a curb or a pothole,
✅ after replacing suspension or steering components,
✅ If you notice uneven tire wear,
✅ Or simply as part of preventative maintenance.
4. Why does poor wheel alignment wear out tires faster?
When the wheels are no longer perfectly aligned, the tires rub abnormally against the road. This causes rapid and uneven wear, significantly reducing their lifespan.
5. Can geometry reduce fuel consumption?
Yes. A properly aligned vehicle rolls with less resistance, which can help reduce fuel consumption.
6. Do you work with professional equipment?
Yes. At Alpha Pneus, we use a HUNTER wheel alignment machine , a global leader in wheel alignment and suspension geometry. This technology allows us to obtain extremely precise measurements that conform to manufacturer specifications.
7. Do you adjust the front and rear axles?
Yes. Depending on the vehicle's needs, we can check and adjust the front axle as well as the rear axle to ensure complete alignment.
8. How long does a geometry take?
The duration varies depending on the vehicle and the adjustments required, but the procedure generally takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
9. Why might the steering wheel be crooked after an impact?
Impacts against curbs, potholes, or damaged road surfaces can disrupt wheel alignment and misalign the steering wheel. A check-up is then recommended.
10. Does geometry improve driving comfort?
Yes. Properly adjusted geometry provides a more stable, precise and enjoyable ride, while also enhancing vehicle safety.
